Chapter 39

When Ace dropped off the girls, he asked if he could come in. I told him of course. I told the girls to take Symphony in the room with them and give me a moment to talk to their dad. Asia grabbed Symphony hand and led her to their room with Beatrice in tow and they closed the door. I asked Ace if he wanted something to drink and what he wanted to talk about. I assumed it was Asia getting a cell phone since she had not stopped talking about it. He told me that he had agreed to the cell phone but that we would get her a simple one that could block all incoming and outgoing calls. I told Ace that was ok and handed him a glass of Pepsi on ice just as he reached up and kissed my lips.

I jumped backwards pushing him away asking what the hell he was doing. Ace was reaching for me saying how he missed me. I started pushing him towards the door telling him to get the hell out of my house. He was full of shit and just jealous. He asked to say goodbye to the girls but I refused telling him to call them later and to just get the hell out of my house. Ace said sorry with pleading eyes and asked me to let him explain. I told him that wouldn’t be necessary closing the door in his face.

I started dinner and could not get Ace off of my mind. He had kissed me and confused the hell out of me. I was over Ace and had moved on and a kiss from Ace was not supposed to have an effect on me the way it did. I could not tell Ace but my body trembled with that little kiss and I did feel something, but it was too fucking late. I was going to marry DreVonn soon. I had waited on Ace for years and now that I was moving on for real, he wanted me back. Hell no, and maybe he didn’t want me back but wanted to screw me just to break up me and DreVonn and then go back to his chick. Glad I knew better than to fall for that shit.

After having dinner with the girls, we played Candyland and then watched a movie. After putting them to bed, I took a long hot bath and then crawled into bed and called Kallima. She answered on the first ring and before she could speak I said “Ace!” in a sarcastic tone. Kallima laughed and I expressed that I was serious and she needed to listen to me. She finally stopped giggling and told me to speak. I told her that fool kissed me when he brought the girls home. Kallima continued laughing but managed to spit out what was that about. I explained that I wasn’t sure and I didn’t let him explain. I told her how I kicked his ass out of my house.
